Acupuncture at Lewes Physiotherapy
Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese medicine used for thousands of years. It involves the insertion of fine, sterile needles into specific points around the body. In Western Medicine, it is often used to treat pain such as headaches, migraines, lower back pain and osteoarthritis. Scientific research has shown the stimulation of the nerves under the skin via the acupuncture needles, causes the release chemicals such as opioids and endorphin’s, which help reduce pain signals travelling to the brain.
